Single Mothers Network: Confidentiality
Participants in the Single Mothers Network make an ongoing pledge to keeping the personal content of what is shared in this support group confidential. This is essential, not only in respect to one another, but it creates a safe environment in which to share some of the overwhelming issues and concerns which confront these women on a daily basis. It allows the participants to disclose their life challenges, process them, and obtain invaluable feedback from others in the group. The process is structured to be constructive and growth oriented, strengthening the insights necessary to be an effective parent as well as continue to grow as a strong and capable woman. A few of the topics that have been discussed to date have focused on issues concerning custody and visitation, effective co-parenting with the noncustodial parent, childcare and the world of work, and the importance of creating an appropriate extended family support system. Since one member of the group is soon to become a new mother, conversation to prepare her for the labor and delivery process as well as the unforeseen adjustments in new parenthood have also discussed. Should you be interested in learning more about these topics, join us! Tuesdays, 6:30 PM at Greensburg United MethodistChurch.
